Cladtek Secures Another Pre-Salt Contract for Mero-4

We are pleased to announce a significant milestone in Cladtek’s journey within Brazil’s with the award of the Mero 4 project by Subsea7. Cladtek will supply over 80 kilometres of Mechanically Lined Pipe (MLP) and other associated weld overlay items from it’s manufacturing facility in Brazil.

This award solidifies Cladtek’s position as a market leader for producing high specification MLP suitable for dynamic service and the Brazilian pre-salt market. Cladtek Brazil is the only local manufacturer of MLP contributing to the Brazilian community and economy as well as increasing the local content for our partners.

The Mero field is the third largest pre-salt oil field globally and the third largest producing field in Brazil. The Mero 4 project phase is located approximately 200 kilometres off the coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro with a depth of approximately 2000 meters and will have a FPSO installed with a processing capacity of 180 thousand barrels of oil and 12 million m3 of gas per day. There will be 15 wells, eight of which are producers, six water and gas injectors, one well convertible from producer to gas injector. The first oil production is scheduled for 2025.
